Hey, I'm new to this site but it seems pretty informational, hope I can find what I need here, looking to change my rear end gasket how do i know if it is a led or not? Do all police interceptors have a lsd? It's an 04. Thanks!

No it was an option.... look at the tag on the differential cover... usually under one of the bolts ..unless its been serviced and never reinstalled.. numbers closest to bolt hole. IE; 327 (ratio) would be conventional and 3L27 would be a trac-lok.. or you can observe the door sticker on driver door near lock mech and find the code under Axle.

Most of those diff tags that I've seen, you can see the L27(the bolt covers the 3 at the beginning, 3L27).
If you see a space followed by 27 it's open(3 27)
This is the tag from my old 2005 CVPI(3.27 trac-lok or 3L27), the differential ratio is before the 88 on the bottom row of letters/numbers(you can't even see it in this picture) and it was on the top of the passenger side of the diff cover.
I found this pic of a 3L27 tag(not an 8.8 axle though), you can see the outline of where the bolt goes and shy you can't see the numbers on most differentials.
This is the one on my 2005 Sport, it was a 3.27 open(3 27), this was on the top on the drivers side.
